The Doppio

What to expect:


The Victoria Gran Fondo Doppio begins on Friday the 16th of June. Our host hotel this year is will be Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites.


Friday June 16th includes registration, bag pick-up and a pre-ride dinner buffet. 


Saturday June 17th will start with a lighter breakfast buffet consisting of oatmeal, eggs, toast, bagels, condiments, fruit and beverages opening at 5:30am. Bag drop off and sign in will take place in front of the hotel entrance and should be complete by 6:20am.


The ride is on open roads and all traffic rules apply.

We supply experienced motorcycle and vehicle escort for the entire ride in order to insure safety and support.


6:30am is roll out time from the hotel. The ride is neutral and controlled until we pass Colwood, approx 12 km, and then its up to you to find your pace.

  • 1st support station near Jordan river, 60 km, you will have access to your bag, hydration and nutrition.
  • 2nd support station is Port Renfrew,110 km, which will have the above mentioned services along with hot meal options.
  • 3rd support station is Lake Cowichan, 160 km, offering services similar to the 3rd stop. The hot meal may be substituted with a sandwich style meal depending on weather.
  • 4th stop is Duncan, 200 km, and is similar to the 1st stop minus your bag. By this point riders have typically settled on their clothing needs.
  • 5th stop is the top of the climb out of Shawnigan, 240 km, and the last stop where timing is officially recorded. Complete services similar to the first stop.


The ride down the Malahat and back into Victoria via the multi-use Galloping Goose trail are neutral and we encourage riding together and celebrating your collective achievement over these final 25 kms.


The km quotes are approximate and we will try to tailor services depending on weather and your personal needs.


After the epic ride, beer and barbecue for riders, family and friends will be hosted again atLighthouse Brewery. Massage, food and refreshments are complimentary for participants and intended to make the transition from a day on the bike to life out of the saddle as perfect as possible. Although only a couple kms from the Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites, we will have shuttle vans running continuously to provide you and your bike transport back to the start point.

The Route:





A large part of this ride is on roads that are quite remote but paved throughout. These roads are subject to frost heave and road-side bank erosion. Also keep an eye out for bears and deer from Sooke to at least Lake Cowichan.
